Spring Break

This is going to be a very uneventful spring break, I think. That is exactly what I need! I have to get our income tax stuff together for our accountant and I have to get my mother-in-laws tax stuff done as well. I have A boards to paint for school and a little reading to do. I want to really clean the house and actually buy groceries. I plan to do a little antique shopping so I can totally redecorate my back veranda and then I plan to spend a day at the spa. I plan to work on Heartbreak House lines everyday ( even though I feel better about these lines than anything I have ever done. They just stuck in my head naturally because they make sense for my character and the situation!) and I have music to learn.

So I will not be lounging around all week, even though I hope I lounge around some of the week, but it will be nice to just be home for a change. My home is my refuge, my safe place and I love just being in my house. It seems like I have only been home to sleep for the past 6 weeks and I couldn’t really sleep at that! Last night I had a great night’s sleep! No lines from Chekhov swirling in my head, no worries of how early I had to get up to get everything done before I headed to school, no play details spinning in among the lines, just sleep- 10 hours of hard sleep!

Stephen called me as I left school last night, to ask if I could be a real college student and do something spontaneous with him. I got excited for a minute there! Sure I can be spontaneous! He wanted me to get up this morning and drive to Atlanta to meet him at the Fox Theatre to see a matinee of “Billy Elliot” at 2EDT. Now, I would love to see “Billy Elliot” and I would especially love to see Stephen. But after the past few weeks and knowing that looking forward to sleeping late today was the only thing keeping me going the last few days, I became an old woman again and said no. Maybe a real college student would have jumped up at 7 this morning and driven to Atlanta, seen their friend and the show, jumped back in the car and gotten home late tonight. I don’t know.

I am content to take today completely off! Sleep late, write, look at my possible school schedule for fall, do laundry, clean house, rearrange some furniture and go to the grocery store. And yes, that is a “day off” for me! I hope everyone enjoys spring break as much as I plan to!
