Christmas eve

You have no idea how much I miss writing this blog everyday. I have had so many amazing things happen in the last few weeks! I got 5 A’s and a B in my first full semester back at college. The B was in dance so I feel like it is an A! I made over 100 in all of the 5 subjects except voice which was a 97! She gave no extra credit so 100 was all that was possible. In dance I aced the written test and the warm up but my actual dancing, while improved was not A material. I am SOOO happy with a B!

Next semester I am taking even more hours but I am excited about all of my classes! Lots of the same professors and later mornings everyday!

The biggest news is that I have been cast in the spring production of “The Bacchae”!!! It is a Greek tragedy that is so outside of my musical comedy comfort zone!! And I got the only female role outside of the chorus!! The audition process was interesting. I had to perform a serious monologue, then was called back where I was quickly taught a fight sequence using 7 foot long wooden poles. One wrong move and my head could have been bashed in. But I did it! And I felt fierce afterwards! Then I had to come back again and do a group piece and then I was one of three to read a monologue from the script. The next day on the call board there was the cast list with MY NAME ON IT! All of the kids were more excited than I was- I was more shocked, stunned and terrified! But I think they really think I can act and I am so excited that something I have felt and held in all of these years is being accepted so readily by these talented people!

So spring seems to hold a lot of promise for me and this journey I am on! Lots of new friends, lots of new experiences and lots of work! (The show has 5 monologues for me to learn!) But I am so excited to try!

Merry Christmas to all!! And a happy, exciting new year!
