Wild Week

I really can’t take long to write- I am so tired! But I have not been here to write in so long I feel like I must!

I was house manager for a show at school this week and also did a rehearsal for my scene in directing, worked on the BFA with Stephonn and attended a workshop on Friday afternoon. Above all I found the dress I have been looking for! I needed one more dress for the BFA project and I was afraid I would never find what I wanted. But I did!

I really enjoyed being a house manager- it was less pressure than box office and although I was SO nervous speaking in front of everyone before the play, I enjoyed it in the same weird way I enjoy performing in general; nervous and unsure of myself before and after, yet somehow exhilarated during! I said I had never been a house manager before, but while doing it I realized that was not true. When I was general manager of the Celebrity Dinner Theatre 35 years ago I was in essence house manager. I just never really thought about it that way!

Some of the people in the play are about to graduate and are some of my favorite people, so getting to just be there, even in such a small capacity, was great. It will be hard to see them go! I also got to see some of the people who graduated last spring and that was so nice! So although I did not eat much all week and I feel very tired from being at school so late and all weekend, I am glad I did it.

This next week promises to be action packed in a different way. More scene rehearsals, and on Wednesday, once again, they will attempt to put in my permanent teeth. I am so ready to be done with all of this!! And then on Thursday I get my hair done (it needs it) and I get to go see my friends in a play at the Montevallo library. Then finally a nice, calm weekend to decorate for Halloween and spend some time with Tim and Jon.

Lots of people this week talked about being excited for our BFA project and I should have been more excited. I am so scared of not being up to what everyone expects. And I certainly don’t want to disappoint Stephonn!! But I am working hard trying to learn songs and monologues. I want to be the best I can be and I think my insecurities might stop me from doing that. So I am praying a lot and I would appreciate anyone who wants to join me. This week I realized again how much calmer I am when I pray before I walk out in front of everyone compared to the nights I had to run up the stairs and go straight out to speak. So lots of praying in the next month and a half. A MONTH AND A HALF -it is coming at me too quickly! START PRAYING! Thanks.
