What Do You Do?

What do you do when you feel that wave of tears well up inside of you, but you just can’t cry right now and you have to push it back down? When you know if you don’t stop yourself, you may never stop?

What do you do when you are a planner, yet you can not fathom what you are planning for? When looking ahead is too scary, so you sit tight in the moment? When you keep wondering about tomorrow or next week, but have to stop yourself?

What do you do when you need to pray, but can not find any words? And the only word that keeps bubbling up is HELP?

What do you do when you just want everything to stop for a minute so you can take a beat and maybe start over, but time keeps marching on? And there are no do overs.

What do you do when everyone around you wants to do something for you and you don’t even know what that something would look like because you are too lost, or scared, or tired?

All I know to do is focus on right now, do the best we can right now. All I can do is hope that somewhere out there God hears the HELP we call for in the night. All I can focus on is the task at hand and pray that when I was told God even takes care of the smallest sparrow, people weren’t just making things up.

What do you do when all you have is hope? Is that enough?
