A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

I haveĀ  just realized it has been over a month since I blogged. Sorry if you thought I dropped off the face of the earth. I sort of feel like I have! I am glad I have my job at BroadwayWorld.com to keep me writing or I really would feel like a different person. You know I have to write!!

Since my last blog I have been working really hard, not only writing reviews, but also rehearsing for a play. Between that, teaching on Mondays and real life, I have been swamped!

I had another block for my back. It always sounds funny when I say I had or am having a block in the back. Too many years of football make me think of a penalty rather than a medical procedure! I did go to a different doctor who looked at my actual MRI instead of just the report and decided to try one more block, this time a double (stuck in two places and extra meds.) I came home from the procedure with one leg not responding to my brain’s commands, but it wore off as the day wore on. I felt perfectly fine within a day or so and I was ecstatic! However, my euphoria only lasted 8 days and then the pain was back. I don’t know about you, but an expensive medical procedure, where they put you under and put tubes in you for only eight days of relief seems excessive. Before the block, the new doctor promised to help me find a surgeon, even he held out little hope of success. But for now I have to justĀ  cope because I have a play to do, other plays to watch and review, and classes to teach. The minute they are done (the week of Christmas) I might have to make a move! I’ll keep you posted.

As usual, I am freaked out about the play! Lots of cancelled rehearsals make me nervous! You know I want to rehearse things to death and any delay makes me panic. But I am working at home when I can and praying A LOT!

I hope you are reading my reviews, I have seen a lot of great plays. And you need to vote for the BWW awards if you have seen a good play recently! Working on the nomination process was a real job, but I think there are some good choices to vote for! (Unlike the actual elections last week, but I won’t go there!)

Overall, I have been busy and just trying to do my best- you know, the usual!

So don’t think I have forgotten about writing, or that I have given up on my blog. I use my extra minutes when I can find one, to work on lines and rest. OR watch football. Depends on the day. Which reminds me- saw a great game with my guys last night at Waldrop Stadium- go Homewood Patriots! And I hope to watch more today. Between jobs and schedules it is a real treat when the three of us can watch a game together. Last week we actually got to worship together, something that never happens. We visited a church that a friend of ours is “planting.” Tim didn’t have to work youth, Jon was off, and my rehearsal got cancelled last minute so we took the opportunity and I am glad we did!

All in all, life is pretty good. I hope to make more time to write here soon! In the meantime- get out there and do something amazing!!
